Hi there, my name is Chris and I am a 34 year old toy addict. Luckily for me, I have two wonderful children who are constantly looking for me to play toys with them. We’ve taken a look at Speed Stacks and Crazy Forts already but this time I wanted to introduce them to a game I have loved for years, Air Hockey.
My addiction to this game started when I was very young and my Dad brought home a giant monstrosity of a machine for us to play on. If I remember correctly it doubled as a ping pong table, which of course made me the coolest kid on the block. It was nice to be able to find a table top version that the kids could learn on.
With the lack of “professional” *ahem* hockey going on, I thought it would be a fun way to keep the kids interested in our national sport. As soon as the box arrived, they excitedly ripped it open and then stared at it quietly for a few minutes, trying to figure out exactly what it was. I didn’t get a chance to explain it before they were already mastering it and scoring on me left and right!
This tabletop Air Hockey set comes equipped with 2 score keepers and a motorized fan for a real arcade feel. And thanks to the included AC adaptor, there are no batteries required! Let me just repeat that last part, NO BATTERIES REQUIRED! Seriously, it was perfect for my kids, who are 2 & 4 going on 13 & 15… They love playing with it and have left me out of the loop in terms of getting any kind of playing time.
In exchange for letting me play a few games, I agreed to invite a few of my super hero friends over to hang with the kids for the afternoon. Here is some footage of an intense match between Super Mario and Captain America.
Thank you to Mastermind Toys for bringing back some great memories, while also helping to develop new ones with my own children. If you love hockey or games or laughing children, this Air Hockey game is the one for you!
